Financial services are a restricted category on every major ad platform. For fintechs, that means extra verification, stricter review of claims and closer scrutiny of landing pages. Most rejections come from a small set of avoidable issues.
1. Advertiser verification is missing
Google requires financial services verification in many countries, and Meta and TikTok have their own identity and business checks. Complete these before launching campaigns, using details that match your licence or registration.
2. Claims are absolute or unclear
Phrases such as ‘guaranteed best rate’, ‘zero risk’ or ‘instant every time’ often trigger rejection and can also breach financial promotion rules. Use specific, accurate and qualified claims.
3. The landing page does not match the ad
If an ad promotes a rate or offer, the landing page must show it clearly with terms. Missing company details, licence information, privacy policy or contact details raise red flags.
4. Special ad category rules are ignored
In some regions, Meta requires financial products and services to run under a special ad category that limits targeting. Building campaigns outside it can lead to rejection or account restrictions.
5. Creative looks misleading
Fake notifications, exaggerated money imagery and before-and-after style visuals are common reasons for rejection. Clean, honest creative performs better over time anyway.
